Startup directories, checked by hand
Many “free” directories want a link back from your site, or sell the link, or queue you for months. We submitted LaunchGrill to these and wrote down what the free route really involves.
- AlternativeTo26 Sept 2026Free, but you need an account with a verified email, and the form sits in the user menu. The normal queue can take months; a $5 priority review is offered. Tracking tags are not allowed on the website link.
- BetaList26 Sept 2026No free route any more: after the form, the choices are $39, $99 and $299, each with a dofollow link. BetaList drafts the listing itself from your homepage.
- Fazier26 Sept 2026Free only if your homepage or footer links back to Fazier, then listed within 30 days. $29 lists you without the link back.
- Huzzler26 Sept 2026The free listing needs a Huzzler badge on your site, waits in a queue of about 72 days, and its page is not indexed by Google. $39 removes all three conditions.
- Launch Vault26 Sept 2026The free launch requires a dofollow link to Launch Vault from your site. Premium costs $9.99 and skips the queue. Launches go out at 08:00 UTC daily.
- Launching Next26 Sept 2026Free, no account, one page with a simple human check. Reviewed daily, and you get an email if it is published. A $99 one-day review is offered after you submit.
- LaunchPanda26 Sept 2026Free only with their badge on your homepage, confirmed by an automatic check; otherwise $19. It also keeps a checklist of about 333 directories for your product.
- Microlaunch20 Sept 2026The submit page leads with a $39 Pro Launch; no free route was visible when we checked.
- Next Big Product26 Sept 2026Free with no badge: you pick an open launch date (they launch five a day; about a week out when we submitted). The free listing is nofollow; a followed link starts at the $19 plan.
- Open Launch26 Sept 2026Free with no badge, but the free queue was full for six months: the first open day was 25 March 2027 when we submitted. The link is followed only for a top-three finish; $9 Premium launches within 30 days with a followed link.
- OpenAlternative20 Sept 2026Free to submit, but only for open-source alternatives to commercial software.
- Peerlist Launchpad26 Sept 2026Free, with a Peerlist profile. Launches open only on Mondays (UTC); the week's top three get a badge and a newsletter feature.
- PeerPush25 Sept 2026A real free queue with no badge: about two months when we joined, with 3,727 ahead. The page stays hidden from search engines until it launches. $39 puts it live at once.
- PitchWall26 Sept 2026Free, but only a one-day homepage slot after at least 30 days; the dofollow link, newsletter and tweet start at the $49 plan. Your public profile needs a username and an About line first.
- Product Hunt20 Sept 2026Free, one launch per product, on a day you choose. Its terms forbid automated submission, so it has to be done by hand.
- SaaSHub26 Sept 2026Free, approved within about 32 days; verifying with an email on your own domain speeds it up. It has a Landing Page Roast category. A $75 priority option is offered.
- Startup Ranking25 Sept 2026Free, with a social login. It asks for country, founding date and a description of at least 300 characters, and listings are approved by hand.
- Startup Stash26 Sept 2026Free, no account: a short application form, reviewed by hand. No price appears anywhere in the process.
- StartupBase26 Sept 2026The free launch needs their badge on your site and a wait of about 4 to 5 weeks (1,544 queued when we checked). $39 launches without the badge.
- TinyLaunch26 Sept 2026Free and weekly, with a launch date assigned (a September submission was scheduled for mid-October). Only the top three get a link, and it needs their badge.
- TrustMRR20 Sept 2026Free, but you connect a payment provider so it can publish verified revenue, which suits products that already earn.
- Turbo026 Sept 2026Free only if your site links back to Turbo0, then listed within two weeks. The $29.90 plan drops the link-back requirement.
- Uneed26 Sept 2026A free queue reported at up to five months; $14.99 skips it. While waiting, the page is noindex and the link nofollow. The submit button does nothing if your product is already there.
