About LaunchGrill

One person, a published rubric, and directory facts checked by hand.

Who makes it

LaunchGrill is built and run by one person: Said Bouigherdaine, a search engineer. He writes the rubric, walks the directories and answers the mail.

How a grill is scored

Every page is read against the same 18 tests across four axes, weighted Clarity 35, Audience 18, Offer 29, Proof 18. The tests are published in full, and they are the exact text the critic is given, so the checklist you read is the one that scored you. Each grill quotes your page for every finding and prints the arithmetic behind the score.

How the directory facts are checked

We submit LaunchGrill to each directory ourselves and write down what the free route involves on the day: whether it exists, whether it wants a link back, how long the queue is. Whether a link is followed is read from the live listing’s HTML, never from the directory’s own description. Every page carries the date it was checked, and a directory not checked recently drops out of search results until someone checks it again. See the directories and the report.

Corrections

If a fact about a directory is wrong, write and it gets re-checked. If someone grilled your page and you want it gone, the link at the bottom of that grill takes it down.
